Debra Medina

by Ben 11. February 2010 15:30

It's all over. People everywhere are talking about how Glenn Beck took down Debra Medina for not coming out against the 9/11 truthers. I find this completely ironic, and a bit disturbing. Glenn Beck is doing exactly what he accuses the washington elite of doing. "What? How can anyone who is evolved in their thinking think that 9/11 has some unanswered questions? Is she stupid?" Glenn Beck didn't say that; I modified what someone said about Sarah Palin, but isn't that exactly the same kind of treatment that conservatives have been complaining about?

I don't believe that the U.S. government was directly involved in taking down the towers, but I do think that there are a lot of unanswered questions. The truth is that there are different types of 9/11 truthers, and anyone with any integrity would investigate more about what the truther movement is about before they blanket statement everyone as crazy. In this regard, Glenn Beck has fallen down. Has anyone wondered how the plane was able to hit the Pentigon? Isn't it a no fly zone? Didn't anyone see that there were four planes flying in the wrong flight paths? Does it really take more than ten minutes for our military to get jets in the air to protect Washington D.C.? Do these sound like the questions of a crazy person? Maybe, you think they do, but then why question anything the government does? Is it wrong to question the government? Does Glenn Beck think he is the only one that can question the government? Does he think he is the only one with valid questions? I don't know, may it is wrong to question Glenn Beck, too.

I think the 9/11 truther crap is a smoke screen. Let's ask these questions of the candidates: Who owns property, government or individuals? Should the government be involved with health care, medicare, medicaid, social security, or any other thing not found in the Constitution? Should the size of local, state, and federal government be minimal? Does government have the right to tell you what to eat, what to listen to, what to wear, what to drive, what to invest in, what to spend your money on, what to think, what to teach your kids, or who your money should be given to? The candidate that is the closest to our founding principals deserves to represent us, whether or not they have questions about 9/11.

The Berlusconi Effect

by Ben 14. December 2009 15:48

After watching Silvio Berlusconi get a taste of his own medicine I began to think about how this one act could be used for good in the United States. Until now the federal government has consistently violated the Constitution with impunity. U.S. citizens that love freedom and are looking for answers as to how we can get the government's attention and make them fear us may have just been given a clue.

Here is the idea. In the Berlusconi case a man threw a statue, rather appropriate for Italy in my opinion, but here in the United States it would seem a bit odd. When our country wasn't happy about the tax on tea they took to throwing the tea off the ships, so we also should keep things in context. Today, we have bills that are over a thousand pages so it seems appropriate to replace the statue with tightly bundled copies of the bills that we oppose.

The affect is that the federal government has a much better chance of feeling the pain of their actions. It seems fully appropriate that when they hurt us, the U.S. citizens, that we hurt them in the only way we can. We tried writing letter, emails, calling, visiting, and protesting. What did that get anyone? A double down on the speed to communism. Note: this is communism because it is very much against our will. This is not socialism. It seems that the only way to get the attention of our government, now that they are becoming more like Europe, is to reach out and touch one of them.

After that, the question become what should we do if they ignore all reasonable attempts to get their attention.

Indiana Senator Lugar Votes In Favor of Cass Sunsein

by Ben 28. September 2009 10:35

Recently, I wrote to my senators to advise them not to vote in favor of Cass Sunstein's nomination. I received a reply dated September 24, 2009 from Senator Lugar. Here is his response.

Dear Mr. Gehring:

Thank you for sharing with me your concerns about President Obama's nomination of Professor Cass Sunstein for the position of Administrator of the Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs at the Office of Management and Budget.  I appreciate having the benefit of your views.

Dr. Sunstein's nomination had been delayed due to concerns regarding his potential views on animal agriculture operations and gun rights.  In a recent letter, Dr. Sunstein addressed both issues, stating, "If confirmed, I would not take any steps to promote litigation on behalf of animals.  In particular, federal law does not create an individual right to bring lawsuits, on behalf of animals, against agriculture.  I do not favor and would not promote such a right" and "I strongly believe that the Second Amendment creates an individual right to possess and use guns for purposes of both hunting and self-defense."  Subsequently, a number of agricultural groups, including the American Farm Bureau, sent Congress a letter indicating that they did not oppose Dr. Sunstein's confirmation.

I voted in favor of Dr. Sunstein's nomination as I have long believed that every President, regardless of party, should be given latitude to fill appointments with individuals who will carry out the Administration's policies unless they are unqualified for the position or unable to fulfill the duty.

Again, thank you for contacting me.

 Sincerely,

            Richard G. Lugar
            United States Senator

I guess that as long as you promise Senator Lugar you won't violate the Constitution he will trust you. Despite whatever history a person has with crazy radical ideas. Perhaps, Senator Lugar has gotten too old to remember the Constitution. Part of defending the Constitution is not accepting people into government whose ideas are completely contradictory to the principles of our founding fathers and the Constitution they wrote for us.

Senator Lugar seems to forget that this President wants to transform our country. While there may be no federal "rights" to bring lawsuits on behalf of animals now, that doesn't mean we couldn't have that in the next four years. Is Senator Lugar so short sided that he forgets that laws, stupid laws even, get passed all the time? Perhaps, he is one of those lazy senators that doesn't bother to read the bill. The same goes for Sunstein's position on the second amendment. Is senator Lugar so naive to believe that people won't lie to get nominated, or is this just his way of abdicating his responsibility? After all, Sunstein gave his word, why would we believe anyone in government would lie to get their position?

War & Violence Between Democracy and the Republic

by Ben 2. September 2009 15:22

Anyone that has watched Glenn Beck lately will be aware of his assertions that the White House is full of communists, marxists, and progressives. By an large, I agree with him. Where I disagree is that there is any peaceful resolution. Well, let me rephrase that. There is one way to avoid violence, and that is for freedom loving U.S. citizens to roll over and do nothing. Remember, all it takes for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing.

I don't believe that the good, freedom loving people of the United States will sit by and watch their freedoms stolen. The United States has the history of two world wars to show us what happens when cowards try to appease evil. However, it won't be the citizens that initiate this war; just like it wasn't the citizens that initiated the Revolutionary war, or really any other war for that matter. No, in the name of honor we will offer up some people for the cause of peace, just as we did at Concord, Pearl Harbor, and on 9/11.

I am confident, that the people of the United States will be long suffering of the President's dictatorial maneuvering; just as they were long suffering as their rights and freedoms have been eroding over the past one hundred plus years. For anyone that believes that there is only a matter of time before the government becomes so powerful that it feels free to enact violence on dissenters, just as it did to world war one veterans when President Herbert Hoover ordered the military to fire on the "bonus army", there are only a few things we can do while the conversion of our country from a Republic to a democracy moves forward.

We need to help people be aware of the principals of individualism so that they cannot be brainwashed into believing that what is best for society or the country is more important than protecting their individual rights. We need to educate people and our youth that this country is not a democracy, it is a Constitutional Republic, and that democracy is just as evil as socialism, communism, and fascism. A good understanding of our Constitutional Republic will reinforce the principles of individualism. We also need to educate people about Capitalism, and that what the United States has been practicing is a fake capitalist look alike system.

In conjunction with education, we need to prepare. I don't necessarily mean stock piling weapons, food, and water. I mean educate ourselves. Learn chemistry, medicine, technology, and any other type of information that will empower people to not be dependent on the government for survival. This will be their primary weapon; to abolish education and force dependence on the government. Knowledge is power. People will perish for lack of knowledge.

People are individuals, and we are each given talents that we can use. Some people can give seminars to educate people. Some people are built to support the cause through technology development. Others can provide other resources. We all, as individuals, have talents to contribute. We can choose to use those talents voluntarily to protect and defend our freedoms, or we can be forced into using those talents by the government to increase its power to oppress more people.

Some people might read my words and think that I am wishing for a war. In truth, I am. To the same degree that John Adams said, “I must study politics and war, that my sons may have the liberty to study mathematics and philosophy, natural history and naval architecture, in order to give their children a right to study painting, poetry, music, architecture, tapestry, and porcelain.” Until the threat of tyranny is removed from our shores, it is our responsibility to carry the cause of liberty.

The Forgotten Question

by Ben 11. August 2009 08:56

While Obama had his staged town hall today, there was a aspect of this whole debate that seems to have been forgotten. The question that should have been number one in this "town hall" and every town hall, news debate, and congressional committee is, "What about the Constitution?"

Government, lawyers, and judges love to throw around their "precedents" in case law. How arrogant of them to assert that somehow a case is superior to the Constitution. The government has used this flawed logic for far to long to justify the regulation and prohibition of individual rights such as restricting growing food for personal use, property rights violations, violations of the 14th amendment, and many more.

When the federal government can't get its way legally, it threatens and coerces states with federal funding to subjugate them to their will. Threatening the withdraw of federal funding if states don't comply with teaching our girls to be whores and our boys to be irresponsible dead beat fathers. Then, the schools advocate murdering the life of the product of their irresponsible behaviour. What about the Constitutional right of that child to life? What about the tenth amendment that prohibits the federal government from interfering with areas not specifically assigned to it? What about the fact that the states shouldn't be sending money to the federal government so the federal government can turn around and extort the states?

Some people think that conservatives and libertarians will have won if we hold off government medical management, an energy tax, and national ID, but the truth is that we may win some battles, but we will never with the war until we instill in the mind of every person to ask themselves one question before deciding matters of government; "What about the Constitution?"

Free thinking, hard working, responsible U.S. citizens have kept their heads down working hard to provide a better future for their children. Yet, while they have been doing what a good person does, the collectivist leeches have invaded the schools, the colleges, and the government to turn our kids against every good thing we stand for. Sure, we could just switch to a private school, but what about the Constitution? Is it reasonable for us to abdicate our responsibilities to ensuring freedom and liberty for future generations? This is our country! These are our schools! We are the government in this country! There is no room for apathy anymore.

I would like to see a movement of hard working individualists taking back our schools, our colleges, and our government. The collectivist elites may try to tell you that you are not qualified. Don't buy it. You are qualified if you are honest, trustworthy, and have integrity. You are qualified if you believe that every individual has the rights our Constitution proclaims. If you meet these qualifications, then you are by far heads and shoulders above the majority of people already running these "institutions".

Today is the day to make a difference. Today is the day to stand up and take our country back. Today is the day we begin to measure all government activities by asking first, "What about the Constitution?" If it isn't in the Constitution, it isn't allowed. We will win the war, not just the battle.
